Class Information:    

Hatha Yoga with Shawna

Cost: $12 drop in (or 5 classes for $50)

This is an Anusara and Iyengar inspired beginner/intermediate class. Shawna creates an environment where students can experience freedom, strength and poise while reducing stress and uniting mind-body-spirit.

Sivananda Yoga with Viecynt

Cost: $5 drop in

This 2 hour open level class is slower paced than many styles of yoga. The Sivananda class is a spiritual and meditative practice that incorporates the physical asana practice with breath control, called pranayama. This style of yoga is considered a "classical Hatha Yoga style." Viecynt seeks to instruct a class helping students develop their ability to control and harmonize body, breath, and mind, becoming able to move beyond the everyday struggles in order to achieve a state of inner peace and harmony. 

Instructor Information:

Viecynt Obidian instructs Sunday morning Sivananda at Malu. He is currently a student at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and hopes to incorporate his skills and knowledge of yoga into his training and professional career as an acupuncturist/herbalist. 

Shawna Hartung instructs yoga on Wednesday evenings. Shawna is a certified teacher who views her yoga path as a way to harmonize the relationship between mind, body and spirit. She has practiced yoga for over twelve years both on and off the mat and is a 2006 graduate of the Pacific Yoga Teacher Training and Advanced Studies Program in Seattle, Wa. She offers a comfortable, fun environment for exploring the powerful practice of yoga.
